The UWELL IRON FIST 200W TC is the first box mod we reviewed from this Chinese company and it's one of the most beautiful out there. The chassis is made from metal and has cool leather inserts. The tank's drip tip matches the color of the mod and the texture is different depending on the color you choose. It's a pretty compact and ergonomic dual 18650 mod and it makes a fabulous first impression that's for sure.

The UWELL IRON FIST 200W TC starter kit comes packed in a standard black cardboard box. Honestly, we were a bit disappointed because we absolutely loved the cylindrical style packaging on the Crown 2 tank. Inside you will find the device itself, the lovely Crown 3 tank with a 0.25 Ohm coil pre-installed, a spare 0.4 Ohm coil, extra glass, spare parts bag, a tool to open the tank, as well as the user manual.
There are three types of textures for the leather grip as well as eight different colors. Snake skin texture is available with Purple, Black, and Blue; crocodile skin texture with White, Green, and Red; and pearl texture with Orange and Yellow.
A box mod with a very elegant design
The UWELL IRON FIST 200W TC is without a doubt one of the sexiest starter kits we tested this spring. The finish is beautiful, build quality is top notch and there's no rattle. The device measures 86.5mm x 56.5mm x 28.4mm and feels super confortable in the hand. The leather inserts give it extra grip and the buttons are placed so naturally.
On top we have a spring loaded 510 connector which accommodates atomizers up to 25mm without overhang. Fire button, display, adjustment buttons and micro-USB slot are all placed on the main side. The battery door is located on the base and has a hinged "push to open" mechanism. Here we also have an on/off button to shut off the device rather than the usual five clicks.
The device takes two high amp 18650 batteries and there are painted polarity indicators on the battery door.
Responsive board and great OLED screen
This powerful regulated vape mod has a very responsive board. In power mode you can use it between 5 – 200W and it does all your temperature controls. Has presets for Ni200, Titanium, and Stainless Steel as well as a TCR option. Unfortunately you cannot adjust the wattage in TC mode and that might be a con for some users. Everything works perfectly and we didn't have any issues with the mod.
The OLED display measures 0.96 inches and it's reasonably bright. It shows info about current wattage or temperature, the mode you're in, output voltage, atomizer resistance, puff counter and battery life.
The Crown 3 sub ohm tank is beautiful
Probably the biggest pro of this starter kit – besides its looks of course – it the Crown 3 tank. This matches the color scheme of the mod and delivers vapor and flavor like a real steam engine. Has a 24.5mm diameter and a total capacity of 5.0ml of e-liquid. It features nice top fill and adjustable airflow control at the base. The drip tip is a 510 so you can always swap it with your own personal favorite.
The UWELL IRON FIST 200W TC starter kit includes two coils: the 0.25 Ohm and the 0.5 Ohm versions. We mostly enjoyed the 0.25 Ohm and we used it at around 80W with 70 – 80% VG e-liquids. Flavor was off the charts and we didn't get any dry hits or flooding.
Performance and final thoughts on the IRON FIST mod kit
After the Nunchaku – which we featured as our best performance vape pen – Uwell comes with yet another best-selling product. The UWELL IRON FIST 200W TC is one of the best starter kits we tested in 2018 and it's really affordable. Apart from not being able to adjust wattage in temperature control mode we didn't find any cons with it. It's beautiful, reliable and consistent. Flavor and vapor are prefect on the Crown 3 tank and build quality is quite impressive. We recommend it to any vaper – beginner or pro – and we're sure it won't disappoint.
