Smoant Naboo Kit review - First touchscreen mode with haptic feedback

The Naboo kit from Smoant comes in a lovely black presentation box. Besides this high quality vaping mod itself you will find, the tank, an extra coil, extra glass piece, charging cable, user manuals and spare O-rings. The tank comes pre-installed with a 0.18 Ohm mesh coil best used between 40-80W.

The extra coil has a resistance of 0.17 Ohms and it’s rated for 60-100W. Available colors for this bad boy are: Black, Stainless Steel, Red, Rainbow, Green, Pink, and Gradient Blue. Some of the colors - like rainbow - have a glossy finish while others have more of a matte finish.

Naboo mod design and features

The Naboo mod has a very beautiful design, with chamfered edges and an incredible 2.4-inch color display. It measures 91mm x 48mm x 31mm and it’s made from Zinc alloy. It feels great in the hand and it’s powered by two high drain 18650 batteries.

The device has only two buttons on one side, the micro-USB slot on the opposite side and the magnetic battery door on the back. One button is for engaging the vaporizer and the smaller one is for locking the haptic keys or turning on stealth mode.

The Naboo vape uses touchscreen technology with haptic response. There are two virtual adjustment buttons on the lower side of the display and these act as your usual up and down. Each time you press these keys the device outputs a small vibration, just like the button of an iphone 7. You can disable the haptic feedback from the menu, but it’s something we really enjoyed.

The Naboo display and Chip

The Smoant Naboo kit utilizes the Ant225 chip, which offers fire speeds of 0.015 seconds. It’s very responsive, accurate and packed with features. You get adjustable wattage, temperature control, TCR, power curves and temperature curves. It comes very close to the Vaporesso Polar starter kit in terms of overall performance.

With this mod you can even change your wallpaper and choose from three different UI modes. The music mode, with it’s interactive graphic equalizer is hands down our personal favorite. The device uses a microphone and adapts to sounds it picks up from the room.

The 2.4-inch display is a thing of beauty. It has a resolution of 240x320 pixels and a DPI of 300. It’s vibrant and well light, however due to the smoky finish it can get difficult to see the information properly in direct sunlight conditions.

The Naboo Mesh Tank

The Naboo Mesh Tank you get with the kit is also very impressive. It uses two types of mesh coils and these are perfect for flavor and clouds. The tank has a diameter of 25mm and uses a snake-skin resin 810 drip tip with O-ring. With the bubble glass section total capacity is 4.0ml, while with the standard glass it drops down to 2.0ml. There’s airflow adjustment on the base and an easy to use top fill mechanism.

We really enjoyed the 0.18 Ohm coil at 50W, however the 0.17 Ohm version doesn't fall far behind. Both coils cope with high-VG juices quite well and the flavor is off the charts with this bad boy.

Naboo kit from Smoant - Performance

The Smoant Naboo is the most impressive starter kit we got to test in the beginning of 2019. The build quality and performance are exceptional while the price is more than affordable. This kit is perfect for all categories of vapers, as long as you style of inhaling is direct lung. You can adjust almost everything and the coils are absolutely phenomenal.

The only con we have is with the fire button, which doesn't quite click when pressed in it’s lower section. Many times during our tests we found ourselves inhaling from the tank and not getting any vapor because of this.
