This has to be one of the prettiest mods we ever tested and the build quality is just impressive. Everything from the solid zinc alloy body and highly popular GENE chip to the uniquely designed resin panels give this bad boy a very high end type of vibe. Even the UFORCE sub ohm tank you get with the kit has been upgraded to match the color of the mod and the drip tip to the color of panels.

What you get with this luxurious vape starter kit
The VooPoo Gold DRAG comes packed in a regular cardboard presentation box. Inside you will find the mod itself, the UFORCE tank with a 0.4 Ohm coil inside, a spare 0.4 Ohm coil, a replacement glass section, spare parts, micro-USB cable, and the user manual. Chassis is golden while the panels are available in Jade, Azure, Purple, Rainbow, or Turquoise accents.
VooPoo Gold DRAG mod design
The VooPoo Gold DRAG is a very beautiful mod and has been built with incredible attention to details. The chassis is made from solid zinc alloy with carbon fiber accents on the side. The panels are made from resin and have a nice rubbery finish. Due do the production process, each of these panels is unique and this means your mod will be one of a kind.
It measures 90mm x 54mm x 24mm and weighs little over 200 grams. Due to its chamfered edges feels pretty nice in the hand but it's quite bulky. You will be able to use it with atomizers up to 24mm without any noticeable overhang.
On top we have a really nice 510 connector with a spring loaded center pin. The power button, display, adjustment buttons and micro-USB slot are placed on the main side. The battery panel has the word "DRAG" designed on it and it's held in place by really strong magnets. The mod takes two high drain 18650 cells and the polarities are clearly indicated inside. Resin panel does not come off.
The all mighty GENE chip
Powering the luxurious VooPoo Gold DRAG box mod is the highly popular GENE chip. After reviewing its little brother, the Mojo 88W, our expectations of the Gold DRAG were up. We knew that this chip ensures us of a lighting fast and responsive vaping experience. The Chip offers a "full temperature control" suite where you can customize this sleek vape to your preferences. With a firing speed of just 0.025s is definitely one of the fastest on the market today. It also has a working efficiency of 95% which means great battery life and perfect overall vape consistency.
The board goes from 5W – 157W and fires down to 0.05 Ohms in power mode. Output voltage ranges between 0.5V – 7.5V and maximum current is 40A. We get temperature control for Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel, as well as the ability to change the thermal coefficient. Everything from the output wattage in TC mode to the 10s power or temperature curves can be easily customized.
A great tank to match this great mod
With the VooPoo Gold DRAG starter kit you get the great performing UFORCE sub ohm tank, same as with the VooPoo Too kit. This also has a gold color and it's made from solid stainless steel and Pyrex. The bulb glass section holds up to 5.0ml of e-liquid and the resin drip tip matches the color scheme on the panel. This tank features push and slide top fill and really good coils for the 50W – 65W day to day user.
Gold DRAG mod: Performance and final thoughts
The VooPoo Gold DRAG starter kit not only looks good but also performs like a real champ. This cloud machine has been engineered to perfection and everything works together perfectly for one of the best vape experience out there. The GENE chip is very responsive and packed with features, the resin panels are a work of art and the tank is really good. It may be a bit bulky and heavy but performance wise is really hard to beat.
