E-cigarettes are gaining more and more popularity each day and one of the main reasons is for their versatility. Unlike tobacco cigarettes, which usually come in only two flavors (tobacco and menthol), e-cigarettes can be enjoyed in a wide variety of aromas with endless possibilities when it comes to mixing them. Until the boom of the e-cig, the only way to enjoy a few of these delicious flavors was with the help of a hookah, but now you can have them all literally ‘at your fingertips’.

banana pie eliquid flavorE-liquid, or ‘ejuice’, is a cocktail of about four different ingredients of varying quantities: Water, Nicotine, PG (Propylene Glycol) or VG (Vegetable Glycerin) and flavoring. It is one of the essentials when it comes to vaping and it’s what makes those thick clouds of aromatic vapor that you love so much. While some e-cigarettes work with sealed cartridges, the vast majority have refillable tanks, cartomizers or clearomizers and they work with e-liquid. Refilling them is a quick and easy process that should only take you a couple of minutes to complete.

Finding a good liquid to match all of your requirements can be a very time consuming operation, and since taste is a very subjective sense, many times it’s a ‘trial and error’ type of action. With so many companies selling e-liquid it is very hard to find the ideal one only by the name it has. However, you have to understand that flavor is only one criterion, and there are others you need to keep in mind.

Nicotine strength is one of the most important facts when picking an e-liquid. Unlike tobacco cigarettes, which typically come in one strength, eliquids come in several different nicotine strengths, ranging from zero to high-concentrations. The recommended starting point for a typical ejuice is anywhere from 10-15 mg and gradually increasing the concentration at your next purchase if you’re not completely satisfied.  Nicotine levels vary from 0mg, 0.8mg, 1.2mg, 1.8mg and 2.4mg with some exceptions.

When it comes to flavor, there is no easy way to tell whether a flavor is ‘good’ without trying it for yourself and that’s why it is always recommended not to blind-buy more than one small bottle of e-juice for starters. From many types of tobaccos, to fruits and even gourmet flavors like ‘banana cream pie with a hint of walnut’, e-cigarettes take great pride in their impressive array of aromas and blends.

The last thing to consider is compatibility. While e-liquids may seem the same, they can work better in some devices, while even causing damage to others. For example, clove liquids tend to produce cracks in transparent plastic tanks, while darker colored e-juices can burn low resistance atomizers due to their rich residue nature. This is why it is always a good idea to ask the vendor if the e-liquid is compatible with your device and avoid such situations.

Former pack-a-day smoker, I discovered electronic cigarettes back in 2011. Since then vaping has slowly turned into my hobby and my full time job. I’ve tested hundreds of e-cigarettes and mods across the years and constantly used my knowledge and experience to help others make the switch. I’m passionate about technology, I enjoy reading and I love big flavorful clouds.
