SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC starter kit

SMOK is back with another high power mod and it's bigger and meaner than ever before. The SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC starter kit follows the footsteps of its predecessor, but comes with 3 batteries and a total output of 300W. It also features the same glowing LED lights all around its body and the design is a bit more aggressive this time. It boasts the immensely popular TFV12 Prince sub ohm tank and it's great for big flavorsome clouds all day long.

What you get with this sub ohm starter kit

The SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC comes packed in a standard cardboard presentation box, with the exact device color featured on the top. Inside you will find the mod itself, the Prince tank with the 0.4 Ohm coil pre-installed, a spare 0.12 Ohm coil, replacement parts for the tank and extra glass, micro-USB cable and the user manual. Available colors include black, chrome, rainbow, gunmetal, gold and blue. Besides the matte black version all the other colors have a glossy finish.

Box mod design and main features

This particular box mod is definitely not something intended to carry around in your pocket. It measures 86mm x 58mm x 47mm and weighs 260g without any batteries inside. With the cells it can weigh almost 400g and this makes it the ideal at home setup. It's big and bulky, but feels nice in the hand due to its ergonomic design. The finish is pretty neat, especially if you get the Blue or Rainbow version.

SMOK T-Priv 3 colors

The SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC has a good quality 510 connector on top with a spring loaded center pin. It's specifically made for the TFV12 Prince tank and you won't be able to fit atomizers bigger than 25 – 26mm on top. This is because it has a ledge separating the connector section for the display section, which is slightly raised. The reason behind this design feature is to prevent e-liquid from reaching the display in case it leaks.

Fire bar is nice and clicky, and placed in the front of the mod. On the back we have the two adjustment buttons, with the micro-USB slot on the side. Battery door is spring loaded and has that nice slide to unlock mechanism like on digital cameras. The mod takes three high drain 18650 batteries and you will find polarity indicators inside the mod and on the door.

SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC board

The board on the SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC is very similar to that on the original T-Priv. Output power however ranges from 6W – 300W this time and output voltage between 0.5 V – 9.5V. These settings remind us of the amazingly powerful SMOK gx350 mod kit we reviewed a while ago. The T-priv 3 features temperature control for Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel and TCR and minimum resistance is 0.05 Ohms.

You can easily adjust your wattage, temperature, and LED behavior with a few clicks of the button.

LED lights – one of the biggest selling points

Probably one of the biggest selling points of the original T-Priv kit was its LEDs. And with the SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC things got even better. The mod looks like it was slashed by a zombie hand or something on both sides and the design is pretty dope. You can cycle through different colors, have them fade or jump and keep them on for vape time, display time or always. There's even a Rainbow scheme and an RGB scheme that cycles through the colors automatically.

And you're not that fond of the LEDs and you just want a high power 300W mods you can ultimately turn them off completely from the menu. We like them and they do make the mod stand out but in the end it's all a bit gimmicky to be honest.

Vape performance and overall thoughts on this 300W powerhouse

The SMOK T Priv 3 300W TC starter kit is without a doubt one of the best designed devices we had the chance to test. The high wattage mod does not only looks great, it performs flawlessly as well. Another mention able point are its ergonomics. The mod feels very sturdy in the hand.

The TFV12 Prince tank is an exceptional performer and we talked about it more in the review we did for the SMOK Stick Prince. Great clouds, great flavor and really nice coils.

We don't like the limitation to 25 – 26mm atomizers, but we understand why they did it. We would have loved to use a 300W mod with a 28mm RDA or something even bigger. Also none of the Prince coils can go even as high as 150W, which is only half the total mod power. You can ultimately buy the RBA base and make your own coils but it's hard to imagine someone could vape this high on a daily basis.
