Smok H-PRIV Kit review - Great performing Mod Kit from Smok

Smok H-PRIV Kit

In terms of performance the The Smok H-PRIV Kit managed to rock my world from the first day and I still use it as my 'night out mod'. It's elegant, powerful and the Micro-TFV4 tank is an excellent performer in terms of vapor production and flavor. You can even use it with other types of Smok coils (sold separately) but I never went past my 160W limit regardless of atty. It also makes a great combo with the Tsunami RDA or the Moonshot RTA. It's one of those mods that adds a bit of elegance to any collection.

One of the sexiest starter kits I ever got the chance to review, the Smok H-PRIV 220W TC kit is definitely the type of mod and tank combos to get you noticed and it also performs flawlessly. This chic powerhouse has a new and innovative approach on what the firing button is concerned and it definitely follows the footsteps of the last X-Cube. It is available in three different color choices – white, silver and black and they all come with that sleek and ergonomic red fire bar.

Smok H-PRIV Kit black and redThe Smok H-PRIV Kit comes packed in a black cardboard box with a white sleeve on top and inside you will find the mod itself, a user manual and warning card, the TFV4 Micro tank with a 0.3 Ohm Fused Clapton coil inside, a spare 0.25 Ohm Stainless Steel coil, an XL Pyrex Glass extension tube, a Smok vape band, a micro-USB cable, and a bag of goodies containing extra O-rings, a spare fill port seal and the chimney extension.

Since the Micro One and the Smok Guardian 3, I became a fan of the TFV4 Micro tank, especially with these new Clapton coils. You get flavor for days and the vapor production is simply outstanding considering the 2.5ml capacity. It's a great tank made from solid stainless steel and Pyrex glass which has one of the best top –swing filling mechanisms I've seen. It measures 47mm in height and has a diameter of 22mm with a total weight of just under 50g. I really love the cone shaped wide bore drip tip and this really keeps your lips cool regardless of wattage. You can use the XL tube and the chimney extension to increase the tank's capacity to 3.5ml of e-juice, but I think it looks a lot cooler in the standard version.Smok H-PRIV mod battery slot

The H-PRIV mod is a bit smaller than the X-Cube II but slightly bigger than the Micro One and it measures roughly 90 x 55 x 25mm, with a weight of 190g. It has a spring loaded 510 connector at the top, as well as the generous OLED display and minimalistic adjustment buttons. The firing bar is designed in the shape of a red prism and it's ingeniously integrated in the body of the mod. The metallic finish looks and feels so much classier than the anodized one on older mods and it gives the product a high quality feel to it.

On the base there's the micro-USB port used for firmware upgrades and the magnetic battery door. Here is where I feel Smok could have done much better, because it's the only piece of this mod that feels a bit cheap. It's held in place by two magnets, there are vent holes, and the pins are coated in 24k gold but the door is made from plastic and you can easily tear the wrap on your batteries as you slide it in if not careful. And speaking about batteries, you will need two high drain 18650 cells to power this bad boy.

Smok H-PRIV mod top viewThe Smok H-PRIV Kit has a nice menu and you can access it by hitting the firing bar five consecutive times. You can switch between modes (power, TC-Ni, TC-Ti, and TC-SS) and you can even do TCR adjustments as well as select how the power affects the desired temperature (max, min, and soft). You can also tweak the display, set the time and date and check the puff counter.

In terms of performance the The Smok H-PRIV Kit managed to rock my world from the first day and I still use it as my 'night out mod'. It's elegant, powerful and the Micro-TFV4 tank is an excellent performer in terms of vapor production and flavor.
