Rectangular VW eGO
In terms of performance, these 15 Watts make quite an impression and paired with the clouds of the Mini Nautilus you do get an extremely pleasant vaping experience. We loved it at 12.0W and it’s certainly one of the best eGo style devices on the market today – however the completion is getting fiercer by the week. All in all, it’s a great product and we didn’t have any minuses for it, except when it comes to aesthetically fitting a tank on this mod.

Our Review On The Innokin iTaste VV4

The VV3 was probably one of the best-selling mods of 2014 and it helped thousands of smokers to cut down on or quit tobacco entirely mainly because of the performance to price range ratio that went almost unbeatable. And of course if you are a reputable e-cigarette manufacturer you cannot let such a legendary device become history so the people at Innokin decided to enter the new year by releasing an improved version of this tiny mod.

The iTaste VV4 is an eGo style battery but rather than going with the traditional rounded shape, Innoking decided to take a rather square-ish approach with the VV series. However, the VV4 is much more than a simple eGo vape device – it comes with one of the best displays we’ve seen so far in a device this small, has both variable voltage and variable wattage and also features a total capacity of 1,000 mAh.

iTaste VV4 battery and boxSo right from the start, the iTaste VV4 is a great vaping tool  for any beginner that’s looking forward to switch from smoking to vaping and it’s also a great ‘to-go’ style vaporizer or a nice back-up to your fancy mod. It comes packed in a lovely white cardboard wrapping and inside you will find the traditional Innokin hard plastic case that holds the battery, a white micro-USB charger, the manual and some stickers. You don’t get any tank inside the box but this gizmo features both 510 and eGo threading so it will work with virtually any accessory on the market today as long as it doesn’t look freakishly awkward on top of it. And we say this because due to its square shape that gets thinner at the top, it’s hard to find a tank that goes great with the VV4, especially from the ones made by Innokin (except maybe for the redesigned Gladius M). From our collection, the Nautilus Mini seems to work like a charm in terms of both aesthetics and performance.

You can buy the iTaste VV4 in black, white or our personal favorite – the Pearl Chrome version that’s iridescent and changes color as you move it around. Looking at the device you will notice the spring loaded 510 connection at the top, the charging micro USB port on the base (the VV4 can be used in pass-through mode), the three color LED backlit firing button, the generous display and the (+) and (-) buttons at the bottom. To turn the device on or off you simply need to press the firing button three times and the color it shows is directly linked to the amount of battery you have left (green, orange and red).

The display is one of the best we’ve seen in an eGo style device and it shows the remaining battery, the current voltage or wattage, the output voltage or wattage and the atomizer resistance. Yes, it is a variable voltage and variable wattage device that can go from 3.0V to 6.0V in 0.1 increments and from 6.0W to 15.0W in 0.5 increments. So this is a lot of power coming from such a slim device and it ensures a lot of versatility. To get the mod in variable voltage mode you need to press the firing button and the (-) minus button for 3 seconds and to get in variable wattage mode you will need to do the same but with the (+) plus button this time. In terms of resistance it can fire as low as 0.8 Ohms but we only tested it with the 1.8 Ohm coil installed on the Nautilus Mini.

This small bad boy also packs a lot of safety features like short circuit protection, over discharge protection, 4.0A fuse and a 10s cut-off period to prevent overheating. The button has a lot more resistance to it than the regular eGos but this ensures it won’t accidently fire while it’s in your pocket or bag.

Former pack-a-day smoker, I discovered electronic cigarettes back in 2011. Since then vaping has slowly turned into my hobby and my full time job. I’ve tested hundreds of e-cigarettes and mods across the years and constantly used my knowledge and experience to help others make the switch. I’m passionate about technology, I enjoy reading and I love big flavorful clouds.
