SMOK Resa Stick review - powerful sub ohm vape pen with Resa Baby tank

What you get with the Resa vape pen

The SMOK Resa Stick comes packed in a standard cardboard presentation box. Inside you will find the Resa Stick battery, the Resa Baby sub ohm tank in matching color, a 0.15 Ohm coil pre-installed, a spare 0.25 Ohm coil, the micro-USB cable and user manual. Unlike previous models there's no extra glass tube in the vape pen kit.

Available colors are White, Pink, Red, Purple, Blue, Green, Black, Yellow and Rainbow.

Design and features of the Resa Stick

The SMOK Resa starter kit is a very practical and easy to use device, particularly aimed towards beginners and intermediate vapers. It consists of a 2000mAh battery with single button operation and a top fill sub ohm tank with adjustable airflow. It's not as powerful as the Uwell Nunchaku, but definitely gets the job done.

The battery has a chic snake skin resin finish and feels very nice in the hand. It measures 83mm in height, weighs little over 90 grams and the diameter is 25mm. It has a protruding fire button towards the top and a micro-USB charge port on the side. The 510 connector on top has a gold-plated center pin and you can use it with any other 25mm or smaller atomizer.

There's an LED notification light surrounding the fire button and this will blink whenever there's a problem with the atomizer. Also it will flash four times after each puff and up to 15 times whenever you need to recharge the battery. Once you plug it into an USB port it takes around 2 – 3h for a full charge.

The battery comes with multiple safety features including low resistance protection, short circuit protection, low voltage protection as well as an 8-second cut-off interval.

The Resa Baby sub ohm tank – innovative and efficient

SMOK are known for their impressive sub ohm tanks and the Resa Baby is no exception. This cloud chasing bad boy has a total capacity of 7.5ml of e-liquid and comes with top fill and adjustable airflow. The top fill mechanism is threaded rather than using the standard swivel top design but works without issues.

The tank comes with two types of coils – the 0.15 Ohm mesh atomizer and the 0.25 Ohm standard atomizer. It's also fully compatible with the V8 Baby coils.

The 0.15 Ohm version is our favorite by far, and it's one of the best coils we've seen on a starter kit. Flavor and vapor are off the charts with this one and it also lasts for a very long time. It comes very close to the experience you usually get from an RTA and that's a big pro for this vape pen.

The only two downsides with the tank are the fact that it doesn't come with a spare glass section and that it sometimes leaks a bit after refills. It's nothing to worry about but worth mentioning.

Performance and final words on the Resa vape pen

The SMOK Resa Stick starter kit is elegant, powerful and easy to use. Has beautiful snake-skin style resin finish and one of the best tanks we tried so far. The 0.15 Ohm mesh coil is really impressive and delivers outstanding vapor and flavor. Battery life is pretty good and build quality is what you would expect in this price range.
