What you get with this sleek wax pen

The Saber vape pen comes packed in a nice black and green presentation box. Inside you will find a fully assembled vaporizer fitted with the dual quartz rod coil. The other accessories are; an extra ceramic donut coil, a dab tool, an USB plug charger, and the user manual.

This device is only available in a single color – Black – and shipping is free on all domestic (USA) orders.

Design and features of the Saber

The Saber is simple and elegant pen built from stainless steel. It has a reasonable amount of weight to it and feels very durable. Has a diameter of 12.5mm and a total height of 120mm including the mouthpiece. It fits great in the palm of your hand or inside a pocket and it features a scratch resistant finish.

The battery has a single button, which is back lit by a color changing LED light. It uses a magnetic eGo style connector for the heating chambers as well as the USB charger. This means there are no threads involved and everything about this tiny vaporizer is plug and play.

The mouthpiece is made from heat resistant glass and feels super comfortable on the lips. It ensures the purest flavor with no plastic aftertaste. It also makes the device look and feel high end and a pleasure to use.

Dual quartz rod VS ceramic chamber

The Saber vape pen for wax comes with two types of atomizers – the dual quartz rod and the ceramic donut chamber. And while both are specifically designed for solid concentrates, there are a few things that set them apart.

The dual quartz rod chamber heats up faster and it's ideal for the press and inhale type of vape. It delivers good flavor and you can take full advantage of the three pre-set temperatures. The downside is that the vapor tends to get a bit harsh on highest level and it's a bit tricky to clean.

The ceramic chamber on the other hand heats up slower but with more consistency and it's perfect for the pen's "Auto-heat Baking" capabilities. This ensures a steady temperature inside the atomizer which will slowly simmer the concentrate to provide smoother and tastier vapor.

How to operate the Saber wax vaporizer

To turn the device on or off you simply need to press the fire button for five consecutive times. There are three pre-set temperatures you can choose from and the way you do this is by pressing the fire button for three times until the LED light changes color. Green is 3.7V and a temperature between 390-570F, Blue is 3.9V and a temperature between 570-750F and Red is the highest at 4.2V and a temperature between 750-895F.

In order to activate the "auto heat" function just press the fire button two times at any of the selected presets. This will ensure a steady temperature inside the chamber for 15 seconds and give you plenty of time for a couple of smooth, flavorful draws.

Performance and final words on the Saber Pen vape

The Saber Pen from NY Vape Shop is sleek and easy to use portable wax vaporizer which does its job flawlessly. It's built from high quality materials and feels incredibly durable despite its small size. Has three different temperature presets as well as an auto-heat option for smoother vapor and enhanced flavor.

It uses magnetic connectors on both heating chamber as well as the USB charger and this improves functionality and ease of use even further. Battery life could be better, but for a device this size it's pretty decent. Vapor production is similar to that of the MigVapor WASP.

The only cons we found are the eGo style charger and that the vapor tends to get pretty harsh at the highest temperature setting.
