SMOK ProColor 225W kit with TFV8 Big Baby Beast tank review

SMOK ProColor 225W

One of the top trending companies from the vape industry is back with another kit and the SMOK ProColor 225W is surely something worth checking out. This dual 18650 mod comes with a color matching TFV8 Big Baby Beast tank and it’s packed with features. On the face of the device you will see a multicolored notification light band surrounding the OLED display and that’s not all. The mod also does power mode, temperature control, memory mode and is firmware upgradeable.

The SMOK ProColor 225W comes packed in a lovely black cardboard presentation box. Inside you will have the mod itself, the TFV5 Big Baby Beast tank pre-fitted with the 0.4 Ohm coil, a spare 0.15 Ohm coil, a spare glass tube, micro-USB cable, spare O-rings and top fill gasket, two vape bands and the user manual.

The device measures 85mm x 46mm x 29.5mm, weighs around 150g and you can easily use it with atomizers up to 28mm. On the top side it has a spring loaded stainless steel 510 connector, with the OLED display, adjustment buttons and micro-USB port on the face. The fire bar is placed on the side and it’s very clicky and the battery door on the base with a push and slide mechanism. It has no rattle, the build quality is just incredible and the paint job looks and feels very durable.

The star of the show with the SMOK ProColor 225W kit is clearly the beautiful 1.3 inch high resolution color display. This shows detailed information about battery status, output wattage or temperature, resistance, working voltage, puff counter and the type of coil used. It’s fully surrounded by a LED band in the shaped like a shield and this can light up in various colors. The way you set up these lights reminds us of the T-Priv and it’s add a very nice visual touch to the overall experience. The mod itself has a maximum power output of 225W and it fires down to 0.1 Ohms in power mode. Output voltage is between 0.5 – 9.0V and the chip features short circuit protection, 12s cut-off interval, overheating protection and low battery protection.SMOK Procolor battery door

The Big Baby Beast tank that is included in this kit is a worthy performer and given the satisfying range of coils and their vapor output it’s a combo you can’t go wrong with. Flavor is fantastic on the 0.4 Ohm Q2 atomizer and with the 0.15 Ohm T8 Octuple you can fill a room with vapor from only 3-4 puffs. For European vapers there’s even a 2.0ml version of this tank, so a big thumbs up for SMOK on that.

In terms of performance the SMOK ProColor 225W is the type of kit that surpasses your expectations. Everything about it feels high quality, the LED lights are a nice touch, the OLED display is just gorgeous and the tank does a great job at delivering puffy clouds. It’s fully customizable, upgradeable, a pleasure to use on a daily basis. The only con we found was the lack of venting holes for the batteries.
