Tesla 120W Box Mod
A sturdy metallic vaporizer that’s both stylish and at the same time packed with plenty of power for the ultimate e-smoking experience
This box mod is great with any of the new generation sub-ohm tanks but it can work with your standard RDA too and even some older tanks, as long as the coils can handle the power. Vapor production is impressive when using sub-ohm tanks or builds and the device is very responsive when clicked. It feels solid and well-built and it’s going to make plenty of cloud chasers happy.

Tesla is a Chinese company that was established back in 2010, however we didn’t hear from them until the end of 2013 when they started releasing all sorts of variable voltage / variable wattage devices and mechanical mods. Nowadays their products cover a wide range of vape gear from powerful eGo style batteries to the ultimate box mods designed for cloud chasers.

Today we are going to take a closer look at the Tesla 120W Box Mod, a sturdy metallic vaporizer that’s both stylish and at the same time packed with plenty of power for the ultimate e-smoking experience. The aluminum body gives this mod a very high quality vibe and we were more than impressed with the finish. However, one thing that we did not like was the fact that both the upper and lower edges are quite sharp and not smoothed out like in the case of most other metallic box mods. It measures roughly 120 x 65 x 30mm, so not the smallest nor the biggest in its category, but well balanced and a pleasure to puff on.

Tesla 120W packaging The Tesla 120W Box Mod comes packed in a black cardboard presentation box and inside you will find, besides the mod, a quality control stamp and a small instructions manual. On face of the mod you will notice a cool dragon drawing that looks like a tattoo and on the back side there’s a bird and the ‘Tesla’ engraving. On the side you have the firing button, display and adjustment (+) / (-) buttons one on top of the other and on the bottom there are plenty of vent holes drilled through the aluminum to prevent overheating of the batteries. The switches are big and responsive and we really loved the way they feel when pressed – on the negative side they do have some irritating rattling from time to time.

The battery cover is held in place by four magnets, which do a decent job but they are not the strongest around. We experienced the battery cover falling on the floor one time, but it may have happened be because we didn’t firmly positioned it back in place after replacing the batteries. By the way, this mod uses two 18650 batteries connected in series (not included in the box, of course). On the top side you can find the adjustable 510 pin (it’s not spring loaded but you can use a screwdriver to ensure a perfect connection with your tank) and some airflow slots.

The display is bright and generous and it shows the battery charge, atomizer resistance, output voltage and current wattage. To turn the Tesla 120W frontdevice on or off you simply need to press five fast consecutive times on the firing button. The Tesla 120W Box Mod is a variable wattage device that can go from 7W all the way up to 120W in 1W increments. To get from 7 to 120 it’s only going to take only a few seconds because it accelerates on a super face pace. Once it reaches the upper or lower limit, it round robins so it’s never going to stop if you keep one of the buttons pressed. The mod also features a locking mechanism and a stealth mode. It can handle atomizer resistances as low as 0.2 Ohms and as high as 3.5 Ohm and a maximum current of 24A. It also comes with plenty of safety features like short circuit protection, reverse battery protection and 10s cut-off.
