2014 has been a very vibrant year for the whole vaping community with a lot of ups and downs and we bet there are a lot of vapers out there thinking on how things will be like in the following year. In the following lines, we are going to try to imagine some of the main events in 2015 to involve the vaping community and share our experience with you.

vaping in 2015First of all, there’s a serious concern on the oncoming FDA regulations. Given the amount of time, we are 90% positive that the Administration will manage to come up with a final set of rules that will be enforced on the whole US e-cigarette industry. However, we believe that some rules will go into effect much faster (the ban on sales for minors and the visible warnings on ecigs and e-liquid) while others will need a few months or years before being enforced (the compliance with the FDA rules for labs producing ecigs / e-liquids, the full disclosure of the ingredients used, the approval of the Administration of each new devices to be released on the market).

While some municipalities will continue to ban the use of electronic cigarettes in public places, we believe that the FDA won’t go that far state-wide, but will allow each city council to vote and prohibit the devices.

It’s very likely that the FDA will impose certain limits on the available concentrations of pure nicotine inside all e-liquids. If this happens, the highest concentration inside an e-juice might be anywhere from 2.4 to 3.6 percent. It could also impose a range of concentrations to be standard for any company trying to sell e-liquids. If this happens, you might only be allowed to buy e-juices ranging from 0%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1.0% 1.2%, 1.6%, 1.8%, 2.0%, 2.4% and 3.6%.

New mechanical mods with high conductivity pins (to ensure minimal voltage drops) and improved locking mechanisms will also be available at constantly smaller prices while some smaller companies will still rely on high-quality (hand-crafted or CNC-crafted) devices to gain popularity. It’s very likely that we will see more 26650 mods coming up and a fair selection of matching RDAs and Tank Systems.

Variable wattage devices are going to continue developing and from what we’ve noticed this year alone, they might reach mind-blowing figures like 200 or even 300 Watts by the end of 2015. However, this will only happen after the manufactures come up with microchips and boards capable of handling the amount of power without any risks of explosion or melting due to the heat.

Big Tobacco companies will probably lose some of their market share, due to the ever increasing demand for tank systems and powerful vaporizers and their only option is to buy companies that already have this technology or to build their own versions from scratch.

All in all, it’s going to be a very good year for vapers, with an ever increasing number of users and tens of millions of devices sold world-wide.

Former pack-a-day smoker, I discovered electronic cigarettes back in 2011. Since then vaping has slowly turned into my hobby and my full time job. I’ve tested hundreds of e-cigarettes and mods across the years and constantly used my knowledge and experience to help others make the switch. I’m passionate about technology, I enjoy reading and I love big flavorful clouds.
