Uwell Crown 2 Sub Ohm Tank review

Uwell Crown 2 Sub Ohm Tank

The first  Crown was probably one of the best sub ohm tanks during the first months it was launched, and it’s still popular even today. This is probably why the company decided to release a brand new model from the series and this too packs a lot of power and ingenuity. The Uwell Crown 2 is a 5ml cloud chucking bad boy and everything about it just screams premium quality.

Uwell Crown 2 tank box contents It comes packed in one of the nicest presentation boxes ever. It’s a black cylindrical can with the authenticity sticker on the back of the cap and inside you will find the sub ohm tank packed in what looks like a bubble sleeve. Besides the atomizer you also get a spare coil, a spare glass tube, a bag of spare O-rings and seals as well as a very detailed user manual. Fitted in the Uwell Crown 2 there’s a 0.25 Ohm SS parallel coil, and the spare one is rated at 0.5 Ohms. There are also 0.8 Ohm coils available for this model, intended for flavor and lower wattages but these need to be purchased separately.

Uwell Crown 2 tank silverIn terms of design I have to say I really like the way this tank looks and feels. It’s made from solid stainless steel and Pyrex glass and it’s available in three different colors – black, stainless steel and coffee. It measures 24mm in diameter and has a total height 66.5mm without the drip tip. This has a Delrin insulator and a wide bore so it’s specifically made for big clouds and high wattages.

As I mentioned before there are three types of coils you can use with the Uwell Crown 2 tank. The 0.25 Ohm Parallel atomizer heads are made with 316 stainless steel wire and they can handle up to 100W. The 0.50 Ohm coils are also made with 316 SS wire and they can handle up to 80W. Last but not least there are the 0.80 Ohm Kanthal coils which can handle a maximum of 55W. The only problem I encountered with the 0.25 Ohm coil was the fact that the flavor got muted after only 3 full tanks. It didn’t happen with the 0.50 Ohm version, but I did read a few comments about people complaining that some coils give a bad taste.

The Uwell Crown 2 sub ohm tank can hold up to 5.0 ml of e-liquid and the top fill mechanism is probably one of the best I’ve seen so far. You can easily take the top off with only two twists and you get instant access to the fill holes. Here you can also unscrew the chimney part that holds the tank together in case you need to take it apart for cleaning. The tank also comes with adjustable airflow at the base, but no e-juice flow control.

In terms of performance, the Uwell Crown 2 clearly follows the path of its older brother and it does an Uwell Crown 2 tank dissembled amazing job at delivering massive clouds of delicious vapor. I personally enjoyed the 0.5 Ohm coils better but I didn’t get the chance to try the 0.8 Ohm alternatives just to see how greatly they improve flavor. Make sure you have a mod that’s at least 24 mm in thickness and can deliver more than 50W to really enjoy the perks of this lovely sub ohm tank.
