The vaping landscape is in a continuous turmoil, with new and more advanced devices making their way on the market each month; however, one particular e-cigarette shape has always been fascinating to a great number of users and this explains why it’s still popular today – the box mod. But box mods have greatly evolved from the heavy and bulky models of the past and nowadays they are becoming smaller and more elegant than ever.
We are going to take a look today at some of the most en vogue box mods and decide which one of these models is going to pair with your vaping needs. And we are going to begin this journey with a classic – the MVP 3.0. This legendary box mod is made by Innokin, and even though it was the big and bulky brother of the classier VTR , it became increasingly popular throughout the vaping community – a true best seller. The last version, the MVP 3.0 is capable of delivering up to 30 watts of power and can work with atomizers that have a resistance between 0.4 and 2.5 Ohms. It comes in four colors – black, blue, silver and pink and it’s powered by an internal battery rated at 3800 mAh. This model is excellent for vaping beginners and intermediates and it appeals to both genders. An amazing to-to vape that’s dependable and powerful.
Next in line, there’s the iStick from Eleaf, another compact box mod that made history and it’s now available in so many versions. The original iStick was powered by an internal 2200mAh battery and delivered up to 20 W in variable wattage mode. The lovely colors and finishes paired with the chrome insertions and overall versatility of this device made it sell like hotcake and it’s the kind of mod that works great for beginners or people that want a dependable yet discreet box mod. Then came the iStick 30W, that featured mostly the same battery and options but this time it was able to hit up to 30 watts. Now we have the iStick 50W, that’s powered by a huge 4,400 mAh battery and can work with atomizer resistances in the range of 0.2 – 5.0 Ohms. And let’s not forget about its smaller brother, the iStick Mini, a very small yet stylish box mod that’s only a fraction in size of the original model and is fueled by a 1050 mAh internal battery. This is
capable of a maximum power output of 10W, but that’s reasonable for any day-to-day vaper that wants to stay away from tobacco. The Mini is most appealing to the female audience because of the range of colors, design and form factor.
Another incredibly popular compact box mod is the eGrip from Joyetech. This is a revolutionary device in terms of appearance and functionality and one of our personal favorites. It is powered by an internal 1,500 mAh battery and works with replaceable atomizer heads. It can deliver up to 20W of power and the wattage is adjustable via an external dial. It also features an airflow adjustment mechanism and it has a unique way of being refilled with e-liquid. The most interesting characteristic of this box mod is the elongated mouth piece and the choice of colors featuring wood, chrome and even camo. A new added feature to the eGrip is the ability to work with an RBA instead of the replaceable atomizer and give users the ability to use their own coils.
Last but not least, we have a very interesting box mod from Kanger called the KBox. This device is powered by an external 18650 battery and can go as low as 0.4 Ohms in terms of atomizer resistance. But unlike so many of today’s box mods this doesn’t feature a display or multiple buttons and it’s designed for simplicity. It features variable wattage in 7 adjustable steps from 8W to 40W and uses LEDs to show the remaining battery charge. It’s the perfect tool for beginners that want to experiment with Kanger’s Subtank series and see how it’s like to vape at 0.5 Ohms.
All of these devices are reputable performers and you can go wrong with either one. It all depends to personal preference in terms of aesthetics and functionality. And regardless of which one you pic, you are surely going to benefit from an amazing vaping experience when you pair it with a new generation tank or rebuildable atty.
