Our Review On The Innokin iTaste VTR AVP

Innokin_logoAfter releasing their first box mod (the iTaste MVP) a few years ago, the creative and innovative people at Innokin came back with their most recent AVP that follows its predecessor in matters of looks and performance; the iTaste VTR.

Though quite similar in shape, the new model does not feature an internal battery cell but instead it used a standard 18650 battery which can be replaced by the user and is easily removed. It also looks and feels a bit larger than the MVP measuring 107mm in length, 54mm in width, and 22mm in depth. It is also a lot heavier than the MVP but still manages to feel quite balanced in the hand.

What makes this box mod unique is the fact that the tank loads onto a side slot rather than resting on top of the unit like in the case of most similar devices. This adds to the overall compact feel but there is also a downside: you can only fit some of the tanks out there with the extension tube provided by Innokin. If you can ignore the extra weight, you could use any 510 or eGo threaded tank system or RDA on the market.

Functionality-wise, the iTaste VTR is a real monster that will put a very big smile on any vaping enthusiast’s face from the first few puffs. The consistency of the vapor is extraordinary and combined with the autonomy of the 18650 battery you’ll be able to enjoy your vaping for days in a row.  It also features variable voltage and variable wattage and adjusting these parameters on the VTR is done by using a wheel at the top of the device. By pressing a small button at the center of the wheel, the resistance of the attached atomizer is displayed on the impressive LED screen located on the side of the device.

Here’s a quick look over the iTaste VTR’s main features:

  • protection for short circuits
  • RMS output
  • Variable voltage from 3.0 to 6.0 volts in .1 adjustments
  • Variable Wattage from 3.0 to 15.0W in 0.5 adjustments
  • simple rotational wheel functionality
  • protection for reverse batteries
  • built in ohm meter
  • air holes in the body
  • 510 threaded
  • doesn’t reset the settings after swapping batteries
  • generous display
  • cut-off protection

Following the tradition of its younger brother, the iTaste VTR is a remarkable piece of engineering and a much appreciated AVP inside the vaping community. All of its features add up to the unique look and incredible performance that make this device one of the best e-cigarettes on the market.
