Our Review On The Innokin iTaste MVP V2

iTaste MVP V2 with clearomizerFamous for their unique sense of style in the design of AVPs, the guys at Innokin, known for one of the most iconic box mods out there (the iTaste MVP) developed a brand new model to exceed the popularity of its younger brother. Therefore, if you are a fan of the previous version, you like box mods, internal batteries and were craving for a bit of variable wattage, then we have just the device for you.

The iTaste MVP V2 is generally viewed as one of the most appropriate mods for beginners, and certainly one of the best upgrades from a cig-a-like or eGo system. At the first sight it looks identical to the original MVP, with the firing button is in the same place but once you press it, you can notice that it seems a lot more durable. The top and bottom are no longer made of chrome metal, but rather a more soft anodized finish.

Similar to the original MVP is the battery voltage detection, with the button glowing when pressed to indicate remaining battery power: green, yellow or red, depending on remaining charge. The iTaste MVP 2.0 can also display on its LCD screen the current battery voltage, atomizer resistance value and puff counter. The 2.0 comes with the same built-in 2600mAh battery and four-way charging cable.

What have changed with the V2 are the internal components. It is now able to deliver both variable voltage and variable wattage. The variable wattage ranges from 6.0 to 11.0 watts in 0.1 increments, which is impressive. The top button controls the wattage, the bottom button controls the voltage, and it only goes up. Hold both buttons and you will be able to read your ohms. While switching between modes is easy (adjusting voltage puts the MVP into variable voltage mode, and adjusting power enables variable wattage), the menu is sadly, a bit complicated than it was on the original iTaste MVP and not even close to the one on the iTaste VW V3. One nice feature about the V2 is that it remembers last set voltage or wattage when the battery is turned off and then back on.

Performance wise, the iTaste MVP 2.0 maintained the same impressive precision as the original version, with output presenting almost no deviation from the displayed voltage or wattage setting. The MVP supports clearomizers with a range from 1.5 ohms and up and vapor production is one of the best we’ve ever witnessed with full rich taste, excellent after taste, no off tastes and, more importantly, no leakage and no gurgling.

The devices come with many security features like a short circuit/atomizer protection, over-discharge protection, and a 10-second cutoff interval.

The kit comes with the iTaste MVP 2.0, an iClear16 dual coil clearomizer with rotatable drip tip, a beauty ring for use with atomizers with 510-style connectors, the four-way charging cable, and an instruction manual. That’s a lot of value for this price tag and it’s an impressive AVP to hold in your hands.
