Our Review On The Innokin Cool Fire II Mod
One of the most uniquely designed mods on the market today, the Cool Fire II follows Innokin’s tradition of releasing Avant-gardist personal vaporizers that deliver spectacular performance and really make anyone using them stand out of the crowd.
It comes packed in the usual cardboard box like many other of Innokin’s products like the SVD and has nothing in common with its brother – the Cool Fire I. Once you open the box, you will see something that resembles an actual hand grenade but is given away by the iClear 30B mounted on top. Yes, an electronic cigarette specially designed for bad boys, army staff or veterans, the Cool Fire II has the same look and feel as a hand grenade and it’s ready to impress.
The Cool Fire II is variable wattage mod, but same as the 134 it doesn’t come with an LCD screen of fancy electronics. You only get a dial below the removable beauty ring from where you can adjust the wattage in 0.5 and 1.0 increments and you can pick any value from 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, 9.5, 10.5, 11.0, 12.0, and 12.5 Watts. As a side note, the dial can be rotated both ways, which is rather nice.
It does come with the popular 510 connection and it has a spring-loaded “floating” center pin to ensure proper connectivity with about any tank you mount on top of it. The ring around the threading has two holes in it to ensure a proper airflow. The battery cap is located on the bottom, it also has a spring-loaded pin, and six vent holes to prevent overheating. The threading is very good quality and the connection is extremely efficient. It works with an 18350 battery.
Once you insert the battery and screw on the bottom cap, you simply have to press on the firing button three times in a row to turn on the Cool Fire II. Like many other Innokin mods, it does have the backlit firing button that glows green, yellow or red depending on the remaining battery charge (Green=Fully charged, Yellow=Half charged, Red=Needs to be charged).
With the Cool Fire II you also get a lot of safety features like reverse battery protection circuit, built in 7A fuse for protection and stability, short circuit protection (0.6 +/- 0.2 ohm), low voltage warning, and a 10-second cutoff period.
Once you put it in your mouth and start puffing on it you’ll be truly impressed with the power of this device. Everything about it feels simple and good, from the way it fits inside your hand to the vapor production and flavor. It pairs perfectly with the iClear 30B included in the kit and it’s a great option for those who are looking for a variable wattage mod and don’t want to spend a lot of money. You get great value for the $70 you pay and this is a mod that’s build to last.
