Our Review On The Innokin Cool Fire I
With a design that looks more like the SVD than its older brother shaped like a hand grenade, the Cool Fire I is a unique mod that combines all the benefits of a mechanical with the constant power output of a variable wattage device. Therefore, it works the same way as a mechanical mod with no LCD display and no adjustable settings but at the same time, it delivers much more power than a standard 3.7-volt device because it is regulated at 8.5 watts.
Made from high quality stainless steel, the Cool Fire I is simple, elegant, powerful, and above all very affordable. The body can be disassembled into three distinct parts: a bottom cap, the battery tube with the 510 connector and a beauty ring. The bottom cap has six ventilation holes to prevent the battery from overheating and has really good quality threading.
The mod comes in a nice transparent plastic box, much like the one on the MVP V2, and inside you will find the Cool Fire 1, an iClear 30S or an iClear 30B depending on the type of product you choose, and an instructions manual. It is powered by an 18350 battery, but can also take an 18650 with the Cool Fire 1 “Extension Tube” that’s sold separately. As you might imagine, the vaping autonomy on a 18350 is not that great and we found it to go for as long as three and a half hours of heavy vaping, so make sure you always have another one ready.
The firing button is housed within a raised bezel on the body and features Innokin’s standard 3-color battery level indicator LED light that glows green, yellow or red depending on your remaining charge. To power on the Cool Fire I you simply press on the button three times and you’re ready to vape.
The regulated output power of 8.5 Watts pairs great with the included iClear 30S or the iClear 30B, but you can also use it with any 510 or eGo atomizer or tank as long as it can handle the power. We don’t know how exactly they ended up with the 8.5-watt setting but it seems to hit the spot perfectly with a good amount of vapor accompanied by a lovely flavor and nice throat hit.
The fact that it comes with an iClear inside the box makes the Cool Fire 1 a great purchase for anyone looking for a decent mod to take care of your daily vaping necessities. Don’t expect to go cloud chasing with it, but we were more than pleased about how it performs. Overall it’s a great alternative to a purely mechanical mod but at the same time it doesn’t offer the same versatility as a variable wattage device.
